Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Vocabular mobile application or Chrome extension (collectively, the "Service") operated by Vocabular ("we", "us", "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Use of the Service
Vocabular grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access or interact with the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its servers.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its related systems.
2. Accounts
To use certain features of the Service (such as cloud sync), you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately at support@vocabular-app.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. User Content
You retain ownership of the vocabulary words, translations, and other content you save through the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of third-party websites and content accessed through the in-app browser complies with those websites' terms of service.
4. Third-Party Services
The Service uses third-party services to function, including:
- Supabase — for authentication and data storage.
- Translation APIs — for word translation (DeepL, Google Translate, MyMemory).
Your use of these services through Vocabular is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
- Translation results will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.
- Any defects or errors will be corrected.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vocabular shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may delete your account at any time from within the app's Settings screen.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the courts of competent jurisdiction.
